High Flying Hangars Reveals Design Plan and Opens Reservations at North Texas Regional Airport

The airport accepted the proposal in late August for a site plan with 39 new hangars for the North Dallas region.

Albuquerque, N.M. — September 8, 2025 High Flying Hangars has revealed the design plan and opened the reservation book for its newest development at the North Texas Regional Airport in Denison, Texas (KGYI).

To address the demand for commercial aviation real estate in the North Dallas Metroplex, High Flying Hangars has secured an option on 8.87 acres, and is in the process of securing a long term ground lease agreement, for hangar development at the North Texas Regional Airport. The plan includes the design for Phase 1 of the development and 5.48 of the acres, with 39 hangars total, and 114,980 total sq feet of hangar space.

Bill Douglass serves as chairman of the Grayson County Regional Mobility Authority, which governs the airport, and he looks forward to kicking off the process, given the North Dallas region’s demand for hangars. “The North Texas Regional Airport sits in a prime position, just outside of the complex Dallas Metro Class B airspace, with convenient access to aircraft owners in a market stretching 50 miles in each direction,” says Douglass. “We’re pleased to open up the design process with High Flying Hangars to help solve shortage of hangar space in the region.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with North Texas Regional Airport on the next phase of development for High Flying Hangars,” said Kenny Hinkes, CEO of High Flying Hangars. “The rapidly growing aviation market in the North Dallas region underscores the demand for quality hangar space. We’re proud to deliver a much-needed solution for aircraft owners and pilots looking for the ideal home for their valued aircraft.”

The design plan can be viewed on the High Flying Hangars website, with the ability to make initial reservations for interested owners. Hangars are available in three sizes: 1,245 sq ft (41.5 ft by 30 ft), 2,000 sq ft (50 ft by 40 ft), and 3,600 sq ft (60 ft by 60 ft) and feature Diamond Bi-Fold Doors with a clear opening that varies with hangar dimensions, and Smart Door technology for the ultimate in security.

Larger hangars (2,000 sq ft and 3,600 sq ft) are planned to come with an in-unit bathroom, frost-free hose bibs with a wash basin, and in-floor drainage. All units include the following amenities:

  • Bright LED lighting
  • High-speed internet
  • Fully insulated, American-made all-steel construction
  • Densified and polished concrete floors
  • Large warehouse fans
  • Overhead infrared heat
