High Flying Hangars Signs Letter of Intent with Wittman Regional Airport for Premier Hangar Development in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Proposed development at one of the world’s most iconic aviation destinations will bring upscale private hangars and exclusive owner amenities to Wittman Regional Airport.

Albuquerque, N.M. — July 22, 2026  High Flying Hangars has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, marking an exciting first step toward developing a new premier hangar community at one of the most celebrated airports in general aviation.

The proposed development will occupy approximately 8.8 acres at Wittman Regional Airport on the northeast end of the field between the approach end of Runway 23 and the airport terminal building. The location offers convenient access to fuel and maintenance support services. The project is currently envisioned to include up to 35 premium aircraft hangars ranging in size from 50 feet by 40 feet to 80 feet by 80 feet. The project also features plans for an exclusive 7,000-square-foot clubhouse designed for hangar owners, offering a premium gathering space for pilots, owners, and guests.

Among the development’s signature offerings are a limited number of two-story 80-foot by 80-foot executive hangars. These distinctive buildings will provide approximately 6,400 square feet of hangar space complemented by a thoughtfully designed second level featuring multiple crew rest suites, meeting space, a full kitchen, entertainment areas, and an expansive rooftop sky deck overlooking the airport.

High Flying Hangars and airport leadership are now entering active lease negotiations with the goal of beginning construction in 2027.

“Every pilot has a connection to Oshkosh,” said Kenny Hinkes, CEO of High Flying Hangars.  “It’s where the aviation community comes together each year to celebrate everything we love about flying. We’ve been attending EAA AirVenture for years, and the opportunity to now build a permanent part of Wittman Regional Airport is incredibly meaningful for our team. Our goal is to create a hangar community that reflects the prestige of this airport while giving owners a first-class place to base their aircraft and enjoy the camaraderie that makes Oshkosh so special.”

Located in the heart of aviation history, Wittman Regional Airport is internationally recognized as the home of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the world’s largest annual aviation gathering. The airport attracts hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts from around the globe each year, making it one of the most recognizable and respected destinations in general aviation.

“Our vision has always been to elevate the standard for private aircraft storage,” added Lisa DeFrees, SVP Sales & Marketing. “This project reflects that commitment by combining premium construction, thoughtful design, and an exceptional ownership experience in one of aviation’s most sought-after locations.”

Additional project details, pricing, and reservation opportunities will be announced as the development progresses.
