We have a lot to be thankful for in the High Flying Hangars community across the U.S. As we dive into the holiday season, we know that many of us take the time to reflect upon the people and experiences that have shaped up since our last Thanksgiving feast.
If you want to learn about a person, look at what they value most. It typically shows through their actions and commitment.
From around the High Flying Hangar team, we’ve each shared a glimpse into what has driven us and supported our success and happiness over the past year. We’d love to hear yours as well!
For Chief Development Officer Jack Hinkes, it’s close to home: “I’m thankful for my family. Without my father’s mentorship and encouragement, I never would have become a pilot. Making the decision to fly led us to our extraordinary hangar business.”
Kendrick Dane, general counsel for HFH, agrees that the collaboration he’s found with the HFH team rates high on his gratitude list. “This year I am grateful to work with such a wonderful, committed, and supportive team of family and partners at High Flying Hangars!”

Lisa deFrees, SVP of sales and marketing, has welcomed a new family member recently—of the canine kind—and she includes the Frenchie pup in her thanks. “I am thankful for the opportunity to join the HFH family this year, for the opportunity to talk all day with people who love airplanes, for the health and happiness of family and friends, and for the newest addition to the family, Miss Piper!”
Tongue firmly in cheek, COO John Badal is also thankful for our four-legged friends—for him, St. Bernards—and asks you to cheer on the truly big “underdogs” at the National Dog Show airing on Thanksgiving Day. “He never wins,” says Badal, eliciting our sympathies.
Wrapping it up for the HFH team, CEO Kenny Hinkes puts a bow on the year, expressing his deep gratitude for all who have supported him and their efforts to build a new home for pilots at airports across the country. “We have such a close-knit group: Kendrick, Lisa, John, Jack, and I are texting, calling every day. And it’s not work at all for us. It never dawns on us that this is work. No, it’s just our fun, and we’re grateful that we get to do it.”
